Tuesday 27th July: Something new

At last something new, at least for me, here at Burwell Fen! Two Cattle Egret present at the top end of the fen towards Pouts Hall. The first was in the inlet behind the trees as you approach, the second was in with a large group of Little Egret but was disturbed and moved into the water in front of the research pen. Both were present for 15 mins before moving back down the fen. I was unable to relocate them as I returned but suspect that they had joined an even larger group of Little Egret on the far side.

Also present was a single Ruff, Redshank (Juv) and Black-tailed Godwit.
