Monday 17th
Cold morning with scattered showers made for not very comfortable birding. The bitter wind made walking the bank a very chilling experience which I cut short and headed towards Tubney Fen.
A small flock of Fieldfare were in the trees along the road and a single Little Grebe in front of the hide. Walking around the back of the pools revealed a further three Little Grebe and at least seventeen Gadwall, five Shoveler and a female Tufted Duck.

Friday 21st
Clear, cold and frosty morning saw us out to Cock Up and a walk round Burwell Fen. A good number of Fieldfare were present across the area but only two Redwing present. A Buzzard drifted across the central area at low level.
The water levels have increased across the area, which is good to see. Hopefully it will attract a bit more in the way of wildfowl ad hopefully waders.
Approaching Pout's Hall I turned just in time to see a Bitten crossing the fen towards the reed beds off Harrison's Drove. Sadly unable to get the camera on it in time!
