Decided to leave the fens for the morning and head into the forest! A bitterly cold morning but the hope of spotting a Parrot Crossbill was worth the chill. However it proved to be a fairly quiet morning. Nuthatch were visible and calling throughout and small mixed flocks of various Tits were passing by.
Three Bullfinch were feeding in the hedge by the river and a number of Siskin were moving backwards and forwards through the trees.
Highlight of the walk however was the excellent views of two Otters swimming up stream. Managed to get some good shots before they moved on.
Sadly no Parrot Crossbill just lots of birders standing around two pubbles!
